The Financial Crimes Task Force, a federal, state and local team of investigators based at the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, yesterday began rounding up eight people charged with various financial crimes.
Arrested or being sought and their charges: William E. Bowser, 43, of Greenfield, identity theft; Tasha Smith, 21, Ross, using her computer at the bank where she worked to steal from customers; Steven Novak, 19, Lawrenceville, stealing credit and debit cards from two doctors; George M. Sullivan, 31, Coraopolis, stealing paychecks from post office co-workers; LaShawn Mitchell-Cummings, 38, Wilkinsburg, cashing counterfeit payroll checks; Lindsey Gagliordi, 27, Wexford, theft of a postal employee's government credit card; Christopher Westbrooks, 43, McKeesport, negotiating counterfeit payroll checks; Donald J. Carpenter, 26, Dormont, theft of a check from a mailbox.

Pennsylvania is comprised of United States Postal Inspectors, Special Agents of the
United States Secret Service and the United States Marshals Service, Investigators from
the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office, and Detectives from the Pennsylvania
State Attorney General’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Allegheny County
Sheriff’s Office, and the Greensburg Police Department.
